We research, write, and argue all manner of appeals, in both civil and criminal matters.

Our appellate practice spans a wide range of topics in both state and federal law. We do not limit that work to the field of defense, but instead take up issues of all stripes that we believe to be important, or that we simply find interesting.

An appellate representation typically begins with a thoroughgoing review of the trial-court record and an evaluation of appealable issues. After identifying the scope of the appeal, we research and shape the argument. That process aims not only to persuade on a point of law, but also to show the decisionmaker a viable real-world path to the desired outcome.
